Esquisse, paysage d'Arriege (2025)

               Oil on canvas
16 inches by 20 inches (41 cm by 51 cm)

In August 2001, I spent a few days in a farm house in the tiny village of Brie, in the Arriege department in southwestern France. (It's not the Brie - the place where the cheese comes from is far away, in the northeast of the country.) This was the view from the front yard. Since I started painting, I've made a lot of copies of French impressionist landscapes; it wasn't until recently that I remembered that I had a French landscape of my own, tucked away in my photo album from the trip.

  1. I really enjoyed reading this post on canvas painting . It’s amazing how a single piece of art can change the vibe of an entire room. Recently, I came across Vibecrafts’ collection of canvas paintings, and they have some really beautiful designs; perfect for both modern and traditional homes. Worth checking out if you love wall art!
